Hockey Netcam 4.0 vs. NHL Netcam 24-25
Starting in the 2024-2025 season, the NHL has changed the configuration of the battery packs at the bottom of the hockey nets. Taking the still Hockey Netcams into consideration, the NHL bags now provide a platform for the Netcam to sit on. This provides a more secure location as the Netcam sits snuggly between the bags and rests against the center upright post.
In this new configuration, the netcam relies on velcro to attach to the battery packs platform. The top back of the Polycarbonate has been notched to allow to Netcam to sit as far back as possible. The box will lean back and the top of the camera will rest against the center post. Push the netcam down firmly on the Velcro.
This box (and any replacement Polycarbonate boxes that you order) will also maintain two of the original three holes on the back of the box. This will enable you to continue using the netcam in non-NHL arenas that need to clamps to hold the netcam to the post.
In summary
If you will be shooting NHL games with your Netcam, you must have NHL Netcam 24-25 or you can cut your existing netcam to the specs in the PDF provided on this site.
If you will be shooting NHL games and possibly some elsewhere order Netcam 4.0. Use the velcro at NHL games, clamps/hardware elsewhere.
If you will just be doing games outside the NHL order Netcam 4.0
Note that ALL Polycarbonate shipping to US and Canadian addressses will be the new notched versions and capable of being used at NHL games and elsewhere.
Reminder: NHL Images must approve all netcam use at NHL games.
